My Marine Corps enlistment, although cut short by disability, was during the Vietnam Era of the 1960's. It had more to do with shaping my life and character than any other event that I can recall. There is something life transforming about putting on the USMC emblem and uniform that only another Marine can understand.

I was young and naive but grew up quickly in a short span of time. No matter how long the enlistment "once a Marine, always a Marine" could never be more true. It remains part of your life forever. My advise to any young woman considering the Marine Corps. You go, girl!! But hold on tight. You are in for the ride of your life! It is a decision not to be taken lightly, especially while our country is at war.
